1. The short version
- We collect only what Vorklog needs to work: your account details and the work data you enter.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or advertising trackers in the app.
- Your employer has no access to your Vorklog account. Your records are yours.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data or have your account deleted at any time — see how.
2. Who we are
This policy covers the Vorklog mobile app for iOS and Android (the “App”) and this website. “We” and “us” mean the team behind Vorklog.
For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@vorklog.com.
3. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and a password. Your password is stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see it in plain text.
Work data you enter
- Jobs: the name and optional description, hourly and overtime rates, currency, colour, and normal working hours you set.
- Work sessions: the date, start and end times, breaks, your device's time zone when a session starts, any notes you add, and the hours, overtime and earnings Vorklog calculates from them.
Hourly rates and earnings can say something about your income. We treat this information as private and use it only to show it back to you.
Subscription information
If you subscribe, we store your plan, its status, and trial and billing period dates. Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), which send us identifiers for your purchase. We never receive your full payment card details.
Information stored on your device
The App keeps your sign-in session and small preferences, such as the job you last selected, in your device's local storage so you stay signed in. This data stays on your device.
Technical information
When the App or this website talks to our servers, our infrastructure providers automatically process technical data such as your IP address, request times and error logs. We use this only to operate and secure the service.
Messages you send us
If you contact us, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you.
What we don't collect
The App does not access your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers, and it contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
4. How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- create and secure your account and sign you in;
- store your jobs and work sessions, and calculate your hours, overtime and estimated earnings;
- sync your data between your devices;
- manage your subscription and the features it includes;
- send emails you need to use the service, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password;
- answer your questions and support requests;
- prevent abuse, fix problems, and keep the service secure;
- meet our legal obligations, for example keeping billing records.
We do not send marketing emails without your consent, and we do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects using automated processing.
Legal bases (EEA and UK)
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on:
- performance of a contract — to provide the App and your subscription;
- legitimate interests — to secure the service, prevent abuse and improve reliability;
- legal obligation — where the law requires us to keep or disclose information;
- consent — where we ask for it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside your country. When personal data leaves the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on safeguards recognised by law, such as adequacy decisions or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your account and work data for as long as your account exists, so your history is there when you need it. When you delete your account, we delete your account and work data within 30 days. Copies in our providers' backups are overwritten on their normal backup cycle.
We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and server logs only for as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
8. How we protect information
Data travels between the App and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Our database enforces access rules on every record, so each account can only read and change its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- access your personal data and get a copy of it;
- correct it — most work data can be edited directly in the App;
- delete it, including your whole account;
- receive it in a portable, machine-readable format;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email support@vorklog.com from the address linked to your account. We'll reply within one month. If you're in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents: we do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we don't use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. You won't be treated differently for exercising your privacy rights.
10. Deleting your account
To delete your Vorklog account and all of its data, email support@vorklog.com from the address linked to your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We'll confirm by email once it's done, within 30 days.
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, jobs, work sessions and breaks. This can't be undone.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings to stop future charges.
11. Children
Vorklog is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. This website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and its fonts are served from our own domain. Like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic request data to deliver pages and keep the site secure. Links to the App Store and Google Play take you to Apple's and Google's sites, where their privacy policies apply.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Vorklog changes. We'll update the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll tell you in the App or by email before it takes effect.
